Quick spin to the coast...

I won`t be swapping the Pugsley frames over for a week or two as i keep uncovering things wrong with the house getting the new stove fitted.  Anyone got a chimney pot?...

Just waiting on the plumber to be available and the stove will be working soon...
Midday Sunday and with an Autumn sun peeking through thin cloud i decided against anymore DIY (destroy It Yourself)  and grabbed the Pugsley and swapped the wheels for some more suitable tyres after the recent weeks deluge...

Large Marge is dead?. Long live Large Marge!...
The Fatbike inter web is full of chat about  the latest lightweight parts and accessories.  While i have a lovely lightweight pair of 100mm wide rims on my big Surly Moonlander,i am still like many other long time owners of fatbikes still running what we bought a while ago, and quite happy with it.  My original Large Marge wheel set with Hope Pro 2 hubs are 6 years old now and after 6 years of salt water exposure are still rolling ok.
I have jumped at some offset Surly Large Marge rims and wheels that have come up for sale in the last year as i am not bothered about the weight of wheels on a bike i will probably never ride more than 40 miles in a day,
With the wheel building i did last week i have a full assortment of wheels and tyre choices now for the Pumpkin Pugsley...

Surly KramPug;  1 Bike, 3 wheel sets,  2 sets of handlebars and pedals;

With a pair of  4" fat wheels with the same Surly front hub/Hope rear hub, and discs and another steel deore 1/13T cassette as the 29+ wheels i can quickly swap to fat wheels...

And these wheels have the chunky Surly Nate tyres, as `Nate Season` has deft arrived!...

It is also the first time i have ridden the Pugsley on fat tyres with the Jones 710mm wide Loop bars...

I was not that sure on these bars when i first rode with them but after 2-3 hours cycling mostly seated these bars are very comfortable. They give a very natural riding position and with my back straight is good...

I thought i would be swapping these bars with riser bars reguarly but will prob leave these on for the type of sit down XC riding this bike mostly does....

Enough waffle about bike parts and on with the ride!... Mowgli hyper at the start of the ride!...

Binning Woods...

Along to Tyninghame avoiding the roads in field boundries as much as possible...

And through Tyninghame Woods...

Onto Peffersands, and the roar of the surf...

Horse riders view...

Mowgli still hyper!...

Lovely Autumn day and few folk on the main beach...

Along to Schoughall farm...

And back to Peffersands...

Wet ground...

Back through Tyninghame Woods...

Back along to Binning Wood, `Natetatsic` traction...

Lovely light in the woods...

Home as the sun sank in the clouds...

Horses enjoyed themselves!,,,

And home to wash a dirty bike!

More Soon...
