Corona Apocalypse...

TO BE UPDATED...

Folk all around the world read my blog, and wherever you live you will be aware of what`s going on,
Easy to brush it off and say it won`t effect you being fit and healthy and dismiss the news...
But nothing like this has every happened in our lifetime, and who knows how many people will die from this... and a lot of people are going to die in the next few weeks here in the UK...
`The Shit is about to hit the fan`...

Scary stuff and once again something that was predicted on the Simpsons has happened for real...

Here in the UK were 2 to 3 weeks behind Italy where today the death toll is over 5000 now...

In typical British response folk have been selfish and over shopping, clearing the shelves of some supplies...

`The Great Loo Roll Pandemic`... WTF did folk wipe there backsides with before this kicked off?...

And Pasta?, a handfull fills a cereal bowl, and there are 20 handfulls in an average package, and how much calories are folk needing to go fill themselves with when they are staying at home as most office workers are now doing?...

You can do your regular shop and stockpile supplies,  i now got loads of Cider Squirreled away in last month...

And Whiskey and some wine... so i`m sorted to sit it out at home if told to not go into work...

Though to be honest i would rather pack a bike and head into the hills and set up a camp,
Never been a better time to own a Bug Out bike...

Folk are still not listening to Goverment advice and keeping a 2 meter distance and everywhere out doors has been packed with folk out walking-and talking to folk!,
There were cars parked all over the countryside today as well as coastal car parks and people were wandering around like lost Zombies...
Sales in outdoors clothing i bet have went through the roof!

Talking of Zombies i have been going on about the Zombie Apocalypse for years on here and what`s happening this now could be a good forerun for it...

Glad i recently got the Surly Moonlander out of the loft to reinstate it for beach riding, more soon on updates to the bike on the blog soon...

It really is the ultimate Apocalypse Bug Out Bike using regular MTB hubs and parts you will source anywhere...

Dave from Surly explains...

Until we are told to self isolate or we go to lockdown as i think it will very soon looking at Europe and folk ignoring Goverment advice i will still be out and about cycling after work and blogging...

Stay safe and more soon...

Dunbar MTB loop...

Spring has arrived after what has felt like a long winter of dark nights and short daylight which seems to be more noticable than i remember but prob just been the norm for this time of year,
Sunday i was out cycling with some of the Dunbar MTB posse, we cycled a loop east along the coastal trail then up into the Lammermuirs from Dunglass to Oldhamstocks and Stobshiel to Aitkingall and the Brunt to then descend down to Dunbar...

Davie counted 7 previous volcanos from our view point...

Return to Rubick`s Cubes...

Bamburgh, Northumberland...

A short cycle at Bamburgh, rain forcasted by midday so just a couple of hours dry time low tide cycling...

Gun Battery at Budle Bay...

This is the sister gun battery to the one at Scremerston beach on the western side of Lindesfarne island, both these guns would have covered an area far beyond the island.
10 bolt mountings indicate a big gun was installed here, possibly an ex navy WW1 destroyer 4" or6" gun, or a 25 pounder...

And nearby this, looks military  but sems to be linked to the lime kilns nearby and the pier on the beach...

Back along to the lighthouse at Bamburgh and this painting has been here a number of years...

And the blocks...

Two dice...

And two Rubick`s cubes...

Quick spin out and back on the sands before spits of rain gradually grew heavier...

Back at the van and near the car park an air raid shelter - possibly Observor Corps?...

And one of many machine gun pill boxes here in the dunes...

With the walls up and rain on steady it was time for Scampi and chips at Seahouses before the drive back up the road...
