friday beachride...
this was quite a long one today..including the ride to and home around 40 miles...quite a big day on the pugsley after riding everyday now for 7 days...had to get out as rain forcast friday night and im busy sunday so only satuarday to go before back to work...
with again clear skys to the north and a cold easterly wind i headed down to again ride west from north berwick to aberlady on an hour after high tide...then again on the coast from gosford bay to port seaton before an hour at my parents and the ride home via the garlton hills ridgeroad...
so not many beach pics of views..you saw some the other day,i was doing a bit filming though, just to add to a wee film which is ongoing...
some pics at north berwick harbour...
i went to park the pugsley and oh-oh....
headed west along the beach...
lots of seaweed and stuff washed in, must have been a bit of a swell to wash that up...
riding along the tideline i came across this washed up...a ray`s bream...
they spawn down near the equator then swim north as far as norway and migrate here to the firth of forth estuary, this is the first one ive found out beachriding..you see? always something new to find...
other things washed up from NB to aberlady reserve were a few fish crates, tennis balls, shoes, some cabbage (really), an orange and a hard hat...
and a kids big truck wheel...
skys were starting to cloud over as forcast from the south, still clear out to sea...
someones made use of the driftwood washed up recently with a bit of beach art..
note the wind chimes made with razor shells...
riding to aberlady i rode west along the john muir trail again to trail along the coast of gosford bay...notice the trees in gosford estate how they slope up away from the coast, burned by the salt air on prevailing winds...the land is flat behing the coastline...
more WW2 anti tank blocks...here used against coastal erosion but looks like the sea has won again...
at ferny ness there is a well preserved line of WW2 anti tank blocks...
i rode through longniddry bents then visited my parents for a brew and bite to eat before leaving the coast for the garlton hills via the old railwayline walk for half its 4 mile distance...a bright sun emerged for half an hour before a darkening sky...
legs are a bit sore tonight after 7 days now on the pugsley and an estimated 150 miles...nothing a hot bath and a few ciders wont sort...
hello... hapi blogging... have a nice day! just visiting here....
