Saturday cycle around JMCP...

Another  Saturday and with a 9,30am low tide we went out a morning cycle at JMCP, an easy bimbe of around 11 miles with a bit beach combing for WW2 trinkets,
Belhaven Bay was already busy with holiday makers and day visitors with a lot of folk in the surf...

Further out towards the Estuary was a lot quieter...

We followed the estuary across Hedderwick sands and started to look for WW2 items...

Soon had a load of .303 cartridge shells...

while G found a nice 20mm Hispano that one home and cleaned found to be dated 1940... never seen a 1940 Hispano before...

Head stamp detail G found online;

B.M.A.R.C. 1940 20mm IZ
IZ denotes the type of cordite used.
The British Manufacturing and Research company - based in Springfield Road, Grantham, Lincolnshire.
This company was a subsidiary of Hispano - Suiza, which developed and produced 20mm aircraft cannons.
In 1940, these B.M.A.R.C. cannons were only just starting to be fitted to arm Spitfires and Hurricanes.

With a few trinkets picked up we headed for home...

Another fun wee cycle on our backyard, wee film, song is `Teardrop` by Massive Attack

More soon...
