UK Fat Bikes Website and Forum!

We now have a UK Fat Bike Forum for all UK Fat Bike related stuff... -:)

Already there is about 7 pages on Facebook to post your Fat Bike and also MTBR Fat Bike Forum and a few other websites...
Some of us chatted about this and not everyone uses or likes Facebook, Over seas Forums, and a lot of  current UK Forums have so much traffic that threads posted up about UK Fat Bike related stuff often disappears in no time.

Born out of an idea to get everyone under one roof involved in the UK Fat Bike community and  share/discuss and organise group rides, technical stuff, share our stories, adventures and passions...
It is open to all interested and we want the UK shops selling Fat Bike related stuff and the importers/distributors to come and say hi and be involved...

With the coming of the Surly Krampus 29+ and esp those 29" wide light rims and 29x3" tyres there is going to be a growing wave of new interest in Fat Bikes for regular xc riding...

People here in the UK are slowly realising you do not need the complicated full suspension `must have latest bikes` that are being pushed here in the UK via our magazines by the big MTB manufacturers.

Slowly 29er ridged Mountainbikes are proving ideal for riding in UK weather conditions - that needs no explanation after this summer!. Maybe it is the wettest summer on record that has made our Fat Bikes really shine for there go anywhere ability what ever the weather and trail conditions.
And more inportantly how little impact is made in wet weather riding fragile trails, while at the same time how much fun they are to ride.
No other bikes can make a claim to that...
The reason we ride bicycles off road in the first place is for the fun and freedom, and these bikes put the fun into riding trails and anywhere else you want to go explore...
So we thought it would be great to have a hub for interested people to go to for info, help and ideas...

There is still a few Website pages to be filled in but the Forum side is growing daily and will take its own path as time goes on. It is what we all make it...

There is room for everyone and because every fat bike seems to be set up different with owners having different tastes and ideas you can have your own thread where you can post your steed and tell us all about it. share ideas and spread the love...

There is just the usual forum rules and you just register and sign in so everyone knows who you are.
As long as language is clean and respect given to each other the big burly Moderators should leave you alone... well they are big softies really...

coastkid & saltyman...

Yes there will be stickers available soon! -:)  maybe T shirts and hoodies later, The future UK Fat Bike Gatherings will be organised from here and no doubt weekly regional group rides. I plan to do a couple of Scottish East Coast weekend Bivvi rides next year and a few others are planning similar xc rides...

Build it and they will come... come over and say hi...

  2. And I thought I was the only nut job.Good to see Fatties are getting some exposure, more people would buy them if they were more available.
I bought my Pug 6 years ago in Key West, Florida. I'd never seen anything like it.It looked to me as it would be the ideal go-anywhere-touring-bike. And as turned out, it is. After many thousands of miles and upgrades it still is. And if you like Bike porn check-out my TI fatty here; http://www.spanner.org.uk/2013/02/hughs-pez-gordo-space-frame-fat-bike-with-truss-forks-by-xacd/..........
