Well not midweek but Monday evening and it was too nice to sit in the house although a bit tierd after a weekends cycling, so out for a wee cycle where i was never more than 2 miles from home, yet ended up cycling 14 miles in a couple of hours!, here are some pics...
John Muir Way to East Linton Village...
Then onto farm tracks to East Fortune...
Harvest is underway and combines were out...
Check out the half track combine!, pretty cool...
As was this huge fungi!...
These woods at East Fortune were the bomb stores during WW2, hence the concrete Peri track (Perimeter) around the area...
Athelstaneford Village, a typical old East Lothian village with its red pan tile roof cottages...
Athelstaneford is known more for a very important thing...
Our Saltire Flag, There was a big scrap a long time ago here, some may call it a battle, and from a cross of clouds in the blue sky above (I keep telling you East Lothian has a big sky) the Saltire was born...
And it was big skies this evening...
And the drone of combines was all around...
A sign near home, points to 3 options of roads...
From home i have 4 options off road; East, South, West, and North on field set a side paths, ancient old roads and right of ways, and paths...
Combines at work...
Amazing light this evening that changed by the minute...
Lovely photies and a lovely looking ride. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteNot every ride has to be an epic. Just rambling around home can be pretty satisfying. Of course, not everyone lives in such a beautiful place.
