Into December...And still running...
Most folk moan about winter and the dark evenings, cold weather etc, i love it!, esp when we get high pressure weather and crisp clear cold frosty mornings,
I`m always glad to get November out the way though, it is my least favourite month of the year as usually wet and dull, and it certainly was this year, mild too that makes trying to mow wet grass that has not had enough frosts to stop growing a pain at work with the wet ground.
Only had two frosts so far this winter, we need frosts and wind to dry the ground...
Moon set/sunrise on Whitekirk Hill...
Now into December and only 3 weeks to go and the evening light starts once again to draw out...
Running;
On a good note i have been running after work 3 times a week around the golf course and although the course yardage states 6500 yards the 35 minutes or so it takes to run around feels longer with the undulations, It`s more interesting than running 4 miles twice across Becky`s strip Byway, with the views, and wildlife we see up here on the hill. the running on the fairways is softer too so must be better for muscles etc...
I took the camera with me this evening to catch the sunset...
Running Selfie!...
Mid winter and the Bass rock is now washed clean of Gannet poo!...
I`m only running up to keep fit and improve my recovery when cycling- last thing i want is any injuries from running that will impede my cycling!. Notice i sweat less now cycling and hike-a-bike stuff is easier...
I bought some stuff to keep running through colder days to come, leggings, thermal hat and gloves, hi viz vest for running from home, and a neat lightweight Alpkit head torch, i can of course use all this stuff for cycling too... even the thin gloves are ideal as liner gloves for cycling...
More soon...
