Easter Sunday early morning cycle...
Early bird catches the worm and all that...
He also avoids the Easter Sunday crowds and egg hunters and the heavy rain showers that were forecasted around Midday!,
I was out at 7am and did an off road loop to Hedderwick Sands, some pics...
Hobbit size gate...
Bridge with two tunnels,i took the tunnel less used...
And can lead to this bridge....
Otter tracks!...
In days gone by landowners manage the river Tyne as it passed through their land, preventing erosion and silt building up, you can see the rocks and remains of a weir here...
Tyne estuary...
The Buist Bank, a water flood defencive dyke was built by Prisoners of War from the Napoleonic Wars...
Mosshouse point...
Hedderwick..
A loop around the woods of John Muir Park - Magpie...
Across Hedderwick sands and back home...
The rings around the pigeon Doocot (Dove cot) were to stop rants climbing up to get inside for the tasty eggs..
That downpour can just stay up there along the Lammermuirs!...
Drylaw hill doocot is the same as the one at Phantassie farm. note the door though is on the same side at the pigeons enter, so more chance of being pooed on!...
There is no place like home...
More soon...
