Surly Wednesday; Rock crawling, and in it`s element!...
Up early and out to the coast before the mid day high tide and i headed to Seacliff to ride the high tide line rocks of the CARR Rocks...
3 dead Gannets were washed up here on the coast...
Gaurdian of the Forth, i see the Bass Rock every day from the hill at work, but when you see it from the coastline at sea level it is always an impressive sight...
As is Tantallon Castle...
Ahead the fun awaits ahead on the rocks above the incoming tide...
While the view inland of the ruins of Seacliff House is slowly dissapearing as tree buds open...
Big fridge washed up, wonder where it came from?...
Fantastic light this morning on the coast...
The Surly Wednesday fitted with 4.8" tyres, 1x11 gears and big wide 785mm bars for leverage is proving to be a great rock crawler.
Riding shoreline rocks is great fun despite the slow speed. Some good balance, learning to `ratchet pedal` and not putting down too much power to break traction and spin out the rear tyre on some surfaces that if wet you can hardly walk on, and reading ahead and picking lines through the sea of rocks is very rewarding...
This section i filmed is part of the optional techie section on next Sundays Forth Fat...
Despite doing a lot of this type of riding i still dropped the bike 4 or 5 times this morning in tumbles, but i won`t show you those mistakes!,
Here is some film
