Weekend on the coast...
Saturday was a long day out and about, i was down at North Berwick for 9am with a plan of a short ride to familiarise myself with the Singular Puffin demo bike, the day though turned in a bit of an epic with 3 rides with two returns home to swap a couple of parts (seat and handle bars) and would as usual involve loats of laughs and blethering!...
An overcast morning when i rode west from NB with Donald and we met Stuart...
A long chat then Donald headed off to go sailing and Stuart and i rode inland back to my house as i decided to fit a spare pair of riser handlebars and Ergon grips which are both my prefered cockpit set up on my Fatbikes...
Stopping at Stuarts van and i tried some chocolate coffee beans, available from Amazon!...
A field boundary we should have avoided turned into a struggle for the gears!, Alfine IGH is ideal for this sort of stuff...
Back to my house and with riser bars and grips fitted we headed for the trails of the John Muir Way back to North Berwick...
The Puffin handles nice on the trails...short chainstay allows for fun antics...
Craig finished work and the three of us headed to Gullane as the sky lit up and it turned out a lovely evening to be out on the coast...
The medium Puffin looks a bit on the small side for me at 5ft 11" withthe amount of seat post but i don`t feel too cramped on it, i am at a hieght where i can ride both Medium and Large frames, guess it depends on what stem lenght and bar shape you prefer to ride with...
Trail side peas :) ...
Through the maze of sandy singletrack at Gullane...
Back to NB as we got robbed of a sunset by a big cloud bank...
Stuart headed for home and we rode back to NB...
Still light in the sky at 11pm!...
Sunday; ride to John Muir Park...
I offered Craig a ride of the Surly Wednesday today and i rode the Puffin and we rode to John Muir Park,
Through the local woods and John Muir Way along the River Tyne to Hedderwick Sands...
Puffin in flight!,pic by Craig...
It`s a hard life, but someones got to do it...
Talk about knife crime?...
More soon...
