Saturday beachriding with friends...
Autumn colour does not really happen on the coast but there is that lovely low sun and the magic light we can get here on the east coast... esp morning and evening...
Saturday was such a dawn, calm with a slight haze and quite atmospheric...
Saturday means time to ride bikes!, and i met Ben who came down from Edinburgh on the train along with Jason and Craig for a bimble beach ride. Bimble?, yeah a social ride with plenty of laughs and banter along the way...
There has been an unbelievable amount of shift on the coast after just the first big swell of the coming winter 2 weeks ago. Huge piles of seaweed and a lot of sand has been moved...
My cycling and friends have definitely helped me keep focused and keep my sanity over the last 8 months of my previous job and despite still being owed a months salary, no pension paid for 2 1/2 years, refund of bank charges for late pay etc... with a new Job and future, and a life again i felt elated riding on the coast today with friends!.
You always grin riding Fatbikes but i was grinning more than usual today!, as my friends noticed!
Broadsands...
At Marine Villa the big pile of lobster creels had been moved with the big waves blocking the line over the rocks on Scorpion trail, so saws were out to cut some of the the rope and remove some of the creels. With the amount of rope it`s going to take some time to separate all of the remaining creels but cut off a few each visit will soon have them ready to be uplifted...
A lot of sand has covered rocks on Scorpion Trail, easier now to ride except for the greasy seaweed...
Feeling alright with the crew...
Freshwaterhaven...
Along the coast to the waste piles of the Iron Ore mine at Jophe`s Neuk near Gullane Point and after a play on the testing little climb we returned to Gullane car park to meet Stuart...
Here is some film to here.
With no wind i let the camera audio be louder than the music, you can here the xylophone noise of the bikes on the pebbles near Marine Villa!

From Gullane it was back to NB with the group now 5 riders and a stop for food at Craig`s Cafe. High tide and we were running out of beach in places as we reached NB and had to take to the golf coast trails...
Again some film, Gullane to NB,

Ben headed for the train station and home, we returned to Gullane as the sun set and it was on with the lights, Jason peeled of at Yellowcraig and the remaining 3 of us rode along the coast with the lights on. I managed to have a tumble on the rocks and got a big bruise on my elbow for the effort!.
A can of pop at the Co op in Gullane then Stuart headed home and Craig and i returned to NB on the cycle route.
It was now 7.30pm and time i got home i had been away for 11 hours and 10 hours riding including stops!,
Here are some pics by Craig to fill in where i was filming...
Happy days!...
More soon...
