Back on the coast...
Back home and good to get back out on the coast again...
9am low tide and across Aberlady Bay and loads to see as i rode out across the exposed sands...
These rocks sit in the middle of the bay above the sand bar, probably the highest points in the bay...
With the Peffer estuary so shallow with the recent dry weather it was possible to ford the Peffer at Kilspindie and ride past the remains of artifacts from where once the port of Haddington with pier was...
Re crossing the Peffer i followed the water and crossed the sands towards the Reserve bridge...
A gravel track across the bay North to south marks the spot of the once tidal crossing across the bay...
This is the route of the old route...
In the grass under a Hawthorn tree is a cut stone, a reminder of an old passing...
picking up the route across Luffness golf course towards Gala Law, you can read more about this old lost road here; An old road and tidal crossings...
Down and onto the JMW and soon back in Gullane...
