Spring Equinox 2019...
The Spring equinox, always a time i start to enjoy the available daylight after work for cycling and now i finish at 3pm so a good 3 hours of daylight to get stuff done, be it at home in the garden, sorting firewood, or today a cycle to the coast.
I find this day marks a big turn in the time of year as while Spring is maybe underway already, the daylight hours growing everyday now is more noticeable - though the exceptional February weather this year put us into a false sense that winter had been and gone!, last weeks sleet and cold winds proved you don't put away your winter woollies until into May,
What better way to celebrate the Spring Equinox then a cycle along the east coast and the magic light as late afternoon turns to evening. While no blazing sunset today hazy sun burst through light cloud and lit up the coast along the waters edge here and across the shore of Fife making for a lovely backdrop while enjoying some fun sandy single track trails through grassy dunes above the high tide line...
I dropped onto the beach at Archerfield where the light was shining on the wet sand with reflections of cloud, quite a surreal atmosphere with the gentle breaking of waves, no one was around so i stood here a while before my stomach told me it was time to get back home for an early dinner...
This evenings ride after work got me stoked about the coming light evenings as they get longer to mid summer in June, then the ripening harvest and the Summer evenings to enjoy the coast and countryside here...
A film with some Boards of Canada,
Song is `Hey Saturday Sun`
More soon...
