Firewood gathering with the Fat BOB trailer...

Alpacas at Belhaven Bay...

After a lot of heavy rain and the river Tyne in spate a lot of wood has been washed into the estuary at John Muir Park, I went down with the Fat BOB trailer to see if any decent logs were for the picking...

And there were several felled logs ideal size for lifting...

4 loads around the tide line then out to Sandy Hirst Point and there was less here then expected but no matter i picked up two good logs here...

One more log spotted on the salt marsh on the return and that would do...

Back home and soon had them sawed then split...

A month or so airing in the log shed and these will be ok to burn, a productive day...

Autumn Coastal Views...

Dawn on the coast, and a cycle out to Aberlady Bay and back from NB, around 18 miles,
Stopped for these iphone pics, apart from that it was good to just ride and spin the cranks...

Shot some helmet cam footage of the ride, edited to a song that once it gets in your head it goes round and round and round... `Buckie High` by Boards of Canada...

Midweek Cycle; Sunset cycle at Gullane Point...

4 weeks to the shortest day, It will soon only be a half hour or so of daylight left after work mid week to get some cycling with pictures and film for the blog. If i cycle into work once a week when the forecast is clear high pressure weather then i will get an hour till dark so probably start doing that next week.
By Christmas the nights will slowly start to draw out again, this is the hardest time of year to do midweek blog posts with pictures,

Today i drove straight to Gullane and within 15 minutes i was down on the coast and cycled along to Gullane Point. looking like there would be a last burst of sun before the sun disappeared in cloud over Edinburgh City i cycled along the foot of the dunes where the sand was still frozen solid from the previous nights low for November -5 Celsius  temperature...

Go Pro pics...

No one around as usual out here at this time of day with only the foot prints of day visitors below the high tide line,  so took the opportunity to do some point and shoot filming...

Zero footprint today on the frozen sand...

Last burst of sunlight over the Pentland hills...

I like cycling out here after work, you unwind from the day and find your own mojo and relax with little wind there was just the sound of the waves, Geese in Aberlady Bay, and Oyster catchers along the tide line...

Just enough light to make a wee film, it`s another film here on this beach, the third in a month but it`s something,  Song is `I Know You Are But What Am I` by Mogwai

Cold November Rain at Tyninghame...

After the lovely light of Friday late afternoon, The rain battered off the window on Friday night,
Definitely a Stove, Cider, Netflix evening!

Saturday dawned pretty grim with cold onshore rain showers, and it felt raw out in the exposed wind,  But it`s the weekend and got to make the most of the available daylight so up early i was down at an empty Tyninghame car park, which would mean an empty beach, ideal for filming,
Wrapped up and Paclite waterproofs as much for the cold wind as the rain i soon warmed up...

The wind builds up the dunes, then the high Autumn tides take them away...

A Guillemot on the sand, seemed too tired to fly,  Hope it can move before any dogs see it later...

Peffersands beachride; Nov 2019 from coastkid71 on Vimeo.

Riding back to the van and typically the rain eased up! and i had a look around the dunes where there is some Sea Buckthorn removal going on...

Not sure what this has been. Military metal stakes but could be anything, maybe been a Bird watching hide?, or a sheep shelter, ...

Back at the van and worth getting down early and the beach to yourself, busy already and only 9.30am...

Back home and an hour splitting logs, Friend Chris dropped trailer load of rounds off last night,
So made a start on them before going to spend the affy with M...

He also gave me this RC Helicopter!, will hang it up...
