Back on the coast- Sand and Wave Therapy...

Back out on the coast cycling and today we drove down to Englandshire - land of no face masks! lol... We headed from Cocklawmouth Beach along the cycle route to the causeway across to Lindesfarne  - which was absolutely mobbed with cars driving across - and headed back to the van along the coast line until past the salt marsh and cycled out across Goswick sands to the estuary and back alongside the waves with a tail wind assisting and it was deserted from people, obviously too far away from their cars to walk...

BOOM!...

2 unmolested machine gun pill boxes, clean inside with no graffiti, a rare thing these days...

had a grin at the causeway at this new sign with the 4x4 pic which looks like my Jeep!

Down here really is the spiritual home of the Big Surly Moonlander, and recently also on the newer spawn `Puglander` Pugsley 2.0 with Moonie wheel set. It has been here many times over the last 9 or 10 years and the big wheels - 100mm rims on 4.8" tyres come into their own across the sands at low tide, or through the dunes...

Out across the sands, miles from everyone, was so good to get out here again...

Sand was real smooth out here today, bit soft in places where still wet but the easterly tailwind helped...

Back to Cocklawfoot beach and a lovely 12 mile cycle, we did no two up into the dunes today as a lot of families and come here in winter on a frosty clear day you will have the place to yourselves...

The Scremerston WW2 Gun Battery was last pic opportunity before getting an ice cream (of course we parked near the ice cream kiosk!) before driving home, worth the 35 mile drive to get on an open wee quiet beach...
