Another weekend and 2 days cycling with one overnighter camp again over the county border in Berwickshire. Again as always here it is deserted and again we never saw another cyclist, never mind any cycling off-road and as so often the case cycling here there were no bike tyre tracks on the many miles of green lanes and gravel roads, you will again note I have no pics of place names or saying any, or listing the route online anywhere in a PDF feed etc... as sadly too many people are ripping other peoples trails and some are even being paid to publish them - which has caused quite a few problems for local riders who for years have enjoyed quiet trails with no issues from land owners, then due to high volume of use, or use at the wrong time of year has upset a few landowners - Access is not some right to go where you want when you want, its about responsible access, and keeping away from some areas at certain times of year - Covid has a lot to blame for this happening with the mass pandemic pedestrians taking to the countryside, now shops and restaurants etc are open again a lot of folk will go back to their natural habitats...
Anyways we had a fun first day and waiting until last light set up a stealth camp and left early hours next morning leaving no trace...
Camp site for the night was a folly castle, and we got a visit from friend Chris who lives in Berwickshire now, and with his BMW motorbike with accessories once owned by a famous actor who rode one of these bikes around the world we fooled a few friends on social media who had met up with us both!...
We sat and chatted until Chris left around sunset, then set up the tent and cooked dinner...
This pic is for Aunt Jeanie!...
Stealth camp...
Oh and the place is not haunted or has ghosts... well I don't believe in such things anyway...
A superb day cycling deserted country roads, gravel tracks, and grass lanes...
