Willys Jeep; Canvas roof up and down...
This WW1 Artillery shell I picked up at the local Mart has been transformed after a bit cleaning and with some history added from G doing her usual research is a nice addition to our growing collection of polished trench art...
G did some research on The Imperial War Museum website and it is an 18 pounder from 1914 made in Birmingham...
Here is a pic of one from the site
Some silk Poppies are fitting for it...
Le Jeep...
Thought I would do a short film dropping the hood on the Jeep to show how simple it is...
Unclip the centre roof bar to release tension on the canvas...
Unclip the roof from the roof screen...
Then fold down the windscreen...
Pull the canvas off the back frame but leave attached to the back of the Jeep...
Loosen the turn screws and pull the main frame up on both sides...
Drop it down and fasten them together to stop rattling - I use velcro...
Roll up/fold the canvas...
Then with the rear seat unclipped and folded out to allow more room push the canvas down behind and secure by clicking the seat back down...
Ready to go...
Wee film... song is `Captain Coull`s Parrot` by Peatbog Faeries
