Surfs up at Belhaven!, a lot of folk out, I need to get some form of watercraft to go out with G on her Stand Up Paddle board!...
The Jeep is running really good despite having sat mostly the last 2 months...
You cannot expect to buy a Jeep that is at its youngest 55 years old and expect to not need to have ongoing work to do on it, along with routine maintenance and as has excuse the pun unravelled is that the wiring is in a shocking state and while everything needed was working it was very untidy, and needing attention,
So midweek Al who is a qualified Sparky popped round and gave the wiring a once over and found a few things I would never have noticed...
We finally added some rear indicators for which I bought for £15 from a Kit Car online shop and they just needed drilling 21mm holes in the tub for mounting...
Bought this for £15 down the street and is the bizz for drilling!, I marked the 20mm with a sharpie and soon had 2 holes drilled...
I did not want big bulbous lamps on stalks like many post war Jeeps have and these will be bright enough to be seen flashing while remaining quite stealth...
While also its good to have rear indicators that are clear and bright...
On the front of the Jeep no one would know the front black out lights have in fact orange bulbs in them and be rerouted wiring for front indicators...
Connected up they were working ok after Al went through the mish mash of wiring which changes colours on the loom from the firewall to the rear - yeah really!, with loose connectors and crazy lengths of wires wrapped around the main loom which get warm with power going through them it's amazing there had not been a fire Al says in the 2500 miles I have driven in the last year!...
Lanoguard Moto Grease waterproofed the connectors of the rear indicators and I also sprayed it all after greasing with Lanoguard spray...
The rear lights and Brake lights are now also correct...
More soon...
