Once you ride motorcycles there in your blood forever...
I always wanted a British motorbike but went the Gap route wanting the 4am start on the button and run for mile after mile reliability to get to work etc or away somewhere...
When Enfield India started to import the iconic Bullet models in the early 1990s I was very tempted but they seemed to be more nostalgic then reliable with dubious quality control stories and while that's all part of their character and there was a big improvement in 2009 with an EFI unit engine there were still rumours about reliability and vibration loosening things etc...
Roll on 2022 and a whole new ground up designed (by Britsh engineers) Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been released...
There are various colour options with a lot of chrome that apart from having disc brakes to look like a classic motorbike, unfortunately the colour option I want is not being imported to the UK,
The Army Signals `Marsh Grey` which is Olive drab, check this out!
So I ordered a stealth gunmetal grey option with similar black frame and engine/exhaust 2 weeks ago from Edinburgh`s Saltire Motorcycles and it arrived this week!, with the Scottish Open at work kicking off in 1st week of July i may not get up to collect it for a week or two but cannot wait! 😀
As you can expect I`m getting it custom painted Olive Drab to look similar to the Marsh Grey above with canvas panniers etc, full Military dispatch motorcycle mode!, so be plenty blog posts and films to share on here along with the Fatbikes and the Willys Jeep...
More soon...
