Back on the coast...
Been mostly riding trails and harvested fields the last month on my 29+ wheels. So it was nice to refit the fatbike wheels to the old Puglsey and head to the coast. Refitting the smooth Surly Larry tyres after the chunky but draggy Surly Nate tyres as the Pug is my only 4" Fatbike until and the new bike arrives, and the bike rolled real nice on the smoother tyres as i rode from North Berwick out to Gullane via the John Muir Way (JMW) trail trying to keep out the gale force westerly and avoid the 11am high tide. A visit to see friend Davie at his work and some detours on trails would i hoped see the turning tide expose the WW2 midget sub wrecks out in Aberlady Bay. But the stong on shore wind would slow the tide retreating and an advancing storm not for casted to arrive here until 6pm seen me ride flat out tail wind assisted back to the car in NB just as the heavens opened!. Still great to be out on the old Pug again midweek on the coast on mostly deserted beaches. Nice way to spend a few days holidays away from work...
