Sunrise at The Bridge to Enchantment...
After a walk up NB Law the other morning i then drove along to Aberlady Bay and walked out across the Bridge, apart from the cars on the coast road the only noise was the wind and birds calling,
It was nice not seeing anyone else there and when you can get here to yourself you really appreciate how special a place it is...
Pink Feet Geese leaving the Bay to spend the day light hours grazing in fields, they return at sunset, later if a bright moon...
Low tide and waders and ducks feed in the Puffer burn...
Low winter sun gives an amazing light on the coast...
The old road, once a tidal causeway crossing i have written about already on the blog...
Here the remains of the metalled surface- not metal as you would think but stones packed hard to form a solid surface as all surfaced roads were made before Tarmacadam.
You can read about this old road Here...
`The Bridge To Enchantment ` the late local Author Nigel Tranter used to call it, walking across here most days from his house in the far right of the picture below, note book in hand as he wrote his novels walking out here on the Reserve...
Time to leave and enjoy the solitude of a nice short walk in a lovely place to have grown up around and still lucky enough to live here today...
More soon...
