Rewind; Stormy Xmas hols rides

With 6 days off over Xmas/ New Year i rode on the coast everyday, riding the bigger tyre Surly Moonlander the coast has been so soft after 4 or 5 massive high tide storms that rolled in during December...

Here are some pics and films...

Xmas day was the usual ride to the coast, was an overcast morning as i rode out to the WW2 Midget sub wrecks in Aberlady Bay...

Most days i was local along the coast, been some erosion and sand moved...

The next day (Sunday) was wild!, i went a walk around the harbour at North Berwick...

Sat 28th Dec was a UK FatBike Forum meet, with a lot of people having family stuuf going on or working 3 of us met at Craster in Northumberland. Si, Glenn and myself,
We rode to Boulmer and had fish and chips at a hotel washed down with a beer...
I took pics mostly so made up a quick slideshow...

Song is `The Raven by The Stranglers`

A day beachcombing at John Muir Park turned up a load of Sea Urchin shells...

Sea coal and drift wood fires many nights ...

Been a great winter for beach riding and beachcombing, many more days to come...

  2. Always something new turns up on the coast, appears from elsewhere or has dissapeared in these stormy conditions Trevor!

  3. Brilliant! Looks like my post failed so here goes again. Your ROC bunker piece a while back prompted me to go exploring. On Saturday, Shearer and I explored one near the Lammermuir Hills mid ride which we also tacked on a trip to Love Coffee....and Cake cafe in Gifford (smashing blt's). After that, I found another one near Kilearn on Sunday and one outside Kippen where I spent many a happy day as a kid.
    Cheers
