Surly Cross-Check; update

With the Dawes Ultra Galaxy built up using the road going commuter bits on the Surly Cross-Check, the CC has been built up again as a Rough stuff drop bar CX style commuter with a down tube front mudguard and the rear rack acting as a rear to stop the worst of the rain,
add some fat 38mm Crossroads tyres and the bike is set up as an off road capable commuter...

Which it was perfect for today!...

It`s the Seacliff Endurance Horse riding event here this weekend, and the off road loops for various distance classes is now marked up,  Francis is vetting this weekend as riding soon at the Cairngorm Golden Horse shoe Endurance 100 mile ride...

Hectic day`s mowing and it`s soon home time, still overcast but at least dry!... and home off road via Becky`s Strip Byway and a few farm tracks...

Not much else to add about the bike. except it works, and gets me to work with off road detours...
But having the Surly ECR 29+ with it`s Salsa Woodchipper drop bars now i have to say it is way more comfortable on rough tracks and fun on the windy wind dust all weather surface of the John Muir Way here and not that much slower, but it`s all horses for courses and the CC still has a place in the bike collection...

More soon...
