Return of the Sun...

After Saturday, and the whole of last week sunshine returned today,
A winter day on a cool clear sunny day is quite special. And with a strong westerly still blowing i made the most of a tail wind and rode west from North Berwick inland sheltered where possible out o Gullane Point...

Cool house still for sale...

Field boundary was a bit saturated but i got along ok...

Through Archiefield, Renaissance, and Muirfield turf nursery gets you towards Gullane as the crow fly`s and then it`s along the Bake Bean trail and west out of Gullane a half mile by road to Quarry Corner (Gala Hill) and out across the Reserve to Gullane Point...

With the tide to still retreat enough to expose the WW2 midget subs it was east along the coast back to North Berwick and enjoy that tailwind...
Just my shadow today for company...

A good pic here of how Dunes form and grow-blown sand covers Marram grass, the grass grows up through the sand and the plant stabilises the dune and if above the high tide line will in time grow larger with each years winter gales...

Along Gullane sands and Kite surfers were out...

Coast was quiet today. Even Broadsands (Yellowcraig) was quiet, a lone horse rider and a few people and that was it,  surprising as as always in winter a sunny day on the coast with that warm light  and long shadows is stunning...
