pugsley makeover....
after a good day hooning around glentress i picked up the pugsley from the shop...
now with its shimano alfine 8 speed internal gear hub fitted...
as always a great job done by jake on the wheel build and other work done...
pugsley looks good with the alfine hub gear fitted, nice and unclutterd without mechs, cassette, cables etc...
the chain alinement is spot on...
rustproof singlespeed chain is a beast!...
and combined with the steel 20t hub sprocket and 32t stainless steel surly chainring it should be a bomber set up...
i now wish i had just specced an alfine hub when i got the pugsley but the 8 speed gear hubs had only been out 6 months when i built my pugsley and no-one really knew how tough they would be but they have now proved up to the job now with several been built on pugsleys...if i do kill it i just swap the wheels to get home singlespeed with the 20t ss sprocket up front!...
so no more mud and grass filled derailiers now...also new brake cables and pads and front wheel re-tension so its ready to roll for more fun and micro adventures...happy days...
