friday night..youtube surfing...cider...and a bit more surfing...

well i got an excuse to be indulging on the cider tonight..its my birthday today..last year of being in my thirtys..and im now on holiday for 2 weeks!...right on!
where am i going?, a county called east lothian...yep im staying at home as...
1; im unfortuantly single again,
2; skint as just ordered a new steel hardtail frame with afore mentioned holiday savings/not needed now holiday money/retail therapy to feel better/lust to build another bike...
3; and more because although nowadays i have less money than i have ever had to spend due to pay cuts /recession/no payrises for 4 years now and to say the least always a bit skint at the end of the month...however...
i have realised i live a very rich life... and am a jammy barsteward....
i live in a beautifull part of scotland with an amazing coastline, some of the best farmland in the country, amazing wooded glens to explore and still lots of trails to ride just outside the "cycle to and back in a day" range, and full of alot of heritage which it will take me a lifetime to cover here on this blog...
and also some great friends to go biking with...so you are never alone...
so lots to keep me busy...if it means i take this journey on my own then so be it...time keeps ticking and life moves on..and the wheels keep spinning...
found all this tonight fumbling about on youtube and if like me is better to watch when onto your 2nd bottle of strongbow..more posts soon...

meanwhile people were still cycling...some still are...

while some werent happy with just cycling up the road...

  2. Happy Birthday mate - you share it with my eldest son :)
Love the Merlin engine video's - always a passion with me as my dad was an aircraft mechanic in WWII and worked on Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lysanders, etc. After he went to work at an airfield and then for Vandervells who made the Vanwall Special (I've sat in one). What he didnt know about engines wasnt worth knowing.
