No Fog on the Tyne to Dunbar...
Friend Ped texted early this morning, on the bus to Haddington to walk back to Dunbar on the River Tyne trail and John Muir Way trail to Dunbar.
I rode to Beanston on the river tyne after leaving the main road to cycle a harvested Winter Barley field at Athelstaneford Mains farm, finally some stubble field riding!...
I met Ped and his Collie Fly on the tyne trail and was happy to peddle along in first gear at walking speed and chat with Ped...
Great to ride a mowed trail!, did not mind the grass build up on the tyres and frame!...
Past Hailes Castle and again another non maintained section of trail, we stopped and chatted with a local man who walks this daily with his dog and he agreed it`s a joke the state of advertised trails for families and in fact anyone who wants walk or cycle them...
Food stop in East linton for Ped...
Daft pics in bubble mirrors taken and a heron fishing on the Tyne near Smeaton Mill...
Across the ford near the Knowes farm and a hilarious sign, which John Muir Way are you on?...
As Ped and i have found visitors to East Lothian often complain about the signage or lack of it, or the confusion of the signs!!!...
Tunnel of err love...
High tide at Hedderwick and Belhaven Bay, and you see why the bridge there is called `The Bridge to nowhere`...
Winterfield looking good...
Street Art; Vader walking his dog...
After chips in Dunbar and cheerio to Ped it was back home through John Muir Park and from the Knowes ford via Binning Woods...

Midweek cycle; Detour Commute...
I rode the Surly KramPug into work with the hope that i would hear/see the dust of Combines and some stubble fields to ride after work but it was not to be here yet...
Up to work and a lovely sunrise that would by mid afternoon cloud over...
Work all done and home time and the fore casted rain never arrived so i headed for a detour home via the local estate...
With all the recent rain showers there is a lot of colour, esp lush green in the woods...
Brightened up also by my orange Altura Night Vision soft shell top i wear for visibility on the road-it`s loud!...
Sadly some sections of the John Muir Way have never been mowed this year,
This is the Blue Ribbon trail of East Lothian and look at it!, wonder what holiday visitors think when they come to sections like this, wide enough for wheel chairs or those 3 wheel off road prams and look at it...
Anyway rant over and choose your own trails to avoid the jungle, like this field end rigg...
Back home and the road has been chipped today...
This could start a new cycling craze, they could call it `Gravel riding` or something.... :D
Anyway someone asked me how long the local trails are i ride as my films are usually edited with ride by scenes etc-anywhere between 3 and 20 minutes (Riverside trails are longest),
Here is a typical trail i rode this evening filmed with the Go Pro chest cam along the local estate lakeside-yes we do have lakes here in Scotland, and two are here in East Lothian...
Song is `Spectrum` by Boards of Canada...
