Drizzle to delight at Seacliff cycle...

Saturday i rode with Craig down to Yellowcraig to meet Brian who was through visiting the east coast for the day,

You think of the coast and power of the sea when you see things moved and erosion etc,
But see here at Yellowcraig how the onshore salt air has contorted these Scots Pine trees and they have grown inland away from the coast,  pretty cool...

Broadsands was near devoid of people and a drizzle came on and a real flat light was not going to be ideal for some nice pics, i took this in black and white to try out but it was still real flat light...

Riding west to Marine Villa and the black rocks were slippery being wet,  a fishing rod washed up, this  beach is being litter picked on the 30th March along with the Estate beach west of Marine Villa by volunteers and the Ranger service and Walled Garden staff, i`m looking forward to it, estate work comes in many forms!...

Scorpion Trail was lethal today! the seaweed seems to have a burst of growth and was real greasy and best avoided!...

Other riders in front, one set of Surly Nate tyres tracks of a rider that i think had been both directions along the coast,  and another on Schwable Jumbo Jim tyres that had been one way - Fatbike tracking skills!...

Brian soon came into sight and was good to see him again!...

Brian fancied visiting Seacliff Harbour so we road east under a gloomy overcast sky and light drizzle...

After meeting Donald riding out to Gullane and back and a quick chat we headed into North Berwick and via the Glen took the back road to Seacliff...

By now the drizzle was off and with the waves breaking on the rocks there was a sea spray haze in the air that picked up what little sunlight there was and transformed the light, fantastic....

It really is a special place Seacliff, almost magical with the tiny harbour, reputed to be the smallest commercial fishing (Lobster) harbour in the world, Tantallon Castle perched on the cliff across the bay, the Bass Rock rising out the Forth, and the waves rolling into the sandy beach...

Here is some film i shot around Seacliff,

It was a brief visit at Seacliff before riding back to NB, where we bumped into Donald again and big Mike!, back along to Gullane and after saying goodbye to Brian, Craig and i headed to Drem off road

It would be approx 44 miles by the time i was home and over 50 for Craig so a good workout for a Fatbike ride!,

More soon...
