Thursday Fatbike Commute; and a wee detour home...

With the weeks high pressure and cold but sunny weather i swapped the wheels on the new Pugsley to 4" fat wheels for a planned post work detour home...

Surly Tug nuts removed to keep the chain stay shorter...

SPD pedals swapped for flats...

Ready for the day. High tide was 5pm but not worried as really just wanted to get some nice sunset pics out at Gullane Point...

Thursday and as forecasted the sky was clear. Leaving half an hour earlier than usual i rode to join the John Muir Way Trail which i would follow to the south of North Berwick...

West from Balgone and at Kingston sunrise at 7.05am...

Quiet to Dirleton on Station Road then through the Estate to work...

Hawthorn...

Docked at work and ready for the day ahead, always better to arrive at work by bike!...

A busy fun day at work then home time and down and onto the dunes to Gullane...

Seabuckthorn clearance...

As i rode to the Reserve it looked unlikely i would get a sunset as a big cloud bank  loomed to the west over Edinburgh...

High tide...

Gullane Point...

So no sunset pics today!, never mind despite a strong westerly wind i had the point to myself and after some filming and pics i rode the T Trail along the dune tops then decided to cut for home as the dark clouds and showers moved down the Forth Estuary and to the south along the Lammermuirs,

Be plenty more sunsets to come, still fun to get out after work on the coast and i got home dry!,
Here is a wee bit film, not what i planned but the Go Pro HERO 4 Session is good at picking up what good light there is...
