Weekend cycling with Jake Dog
Dog sitting Jake this weekend, and Saturday dawned clear skies and a setting big moon and bluest of sky. I love winter esp when you get high pressure cold weather like this, the light on the coast from the low sun is amazing and today i was out early with a 10am low tide with Jake alongside and enjoyed a quietness of the day at JMP. With the low tide we rode across the exposed sands of Hedderwick sands with the strong but cold Northerly wind adding to the winter feel as a tumbling surf roared in from the North sea as i turned the point at Sandy Hirst and rolled down a firm flat beach that had been washed clean of debris from the recent high tides....

Return to John Muir Park!
iphone Pano pic...
Sunday seen a return cycle to JMP today along with Craig, being a holiday week and mid day mid tide JMP is always quieter than around NB and Gullane so better for filming and getting away from it all and enjoying the coastal scenery and nature on offer here,
More woods riding today before riding around Spike Island and across to Behaven bridge before returning across the salt marsh,
Again pics are stills from the Go Pro...
Unknown origin of use of this WW2 building, never seen another like it online anywhere...
`Bullet Hill` former firing range, a quick look in rabbit scrapes soon turns up some .303 bullets...
Sandy trails around the woods...
Checking out the big tyres!....
Hedderwick sands...
Big Sky day in the Shire...
Out at Sandy Hirst Point...
Belhaven Bay, and this now the aptly named `Bridge to Nowhere`...
From hence we came...
Across the saltmarsh...
Great wee hour cycle, Craig shouted chips in town before heading back to HQ, an ace Big Sky Day on the coast...
Some film, Song is `Skyliner` by Boards of Canada

Midweek Cycle; John Muir Park
Another dry day and an hour `Fat Fix` at John Muir Park,
Always like riding here as so quiet to the rest of the coast so ideal if you want to film,
It was a mild breezy day as i rode a clockwise loop around Spike Island after riding the sandy trails through the pine wood then east across Hedderwick Bay and out to the pint at the River Tyne Estuary,
Today i filmed the various WW2 remains on the beaches here, rubble from demolished Machine gun pill boxes, and the last remains of the Matilda tank which has nearly disappeared as the sea rots it away...
Sand was drifting as i rode down to Belhaven bay then back to the car park across the salt marsh,
sand has mostly increased here along the high tide line though there has been more erosion at the usual places,
Leaving the van in the car park and it was into the woods, roll the pics...
All Go Pro stills...
John Muir Way....
Remains of WW2 a building...
Remains of a WW2 Machine Gun pill box...
Remains of the WW2 Matilda MK II Tank...
Remains of another WW2 Machine Gun Pill Box...
Deserted East Beach...
Will be back here on Saturday and will photo the remaining WW2 buildings in the woods, and try find the pill box on Spike Island
And some film from today, Song is `The 5th Exotic` by Quantic
