With the ground so dry i suggested a cycle to the Goblin Castle up in Yester woods and Craig and i rode early Saturday morning getting in a ride by midday leaving time to get on with other stuff.
There was a bit of a NATO theme going on with my Ritchey Commando and Craig's Green Surly Ops!, the woods have still to turn except the Horse Chestnuts and oaks, need a couple of frosts to get a change in colour, which i am sure won`t be long away...
The trail to Gifford is lovely and scenic, a few more big trees have come down in the recent strong winds...
Out into a clearing sky...
Here is the first of three short films,

Up into Yester Woods, an amazing place this, a real sense of time stopped and ancient stone work and big old trees...
And the ruins of Yester Castle itself, it`s stone vaulted hall dates to 1296

here is some film riding up to and a look around the castle ruins,

Back down through the woods and ace descents being dry....
And onto the lovely trail named `Spare Nought` you need to go look that up to see what it means ;)
