Midweek Cycle; Drem Airfield...



Evening cycle with M and Becky around Drem Airfield, and still that cold east wind!



Former RAF Drem night flying training building...

Pill box overlooking the field where the west/east grass runway once was...

Hanger 1...


As you can see the diagonal runways were not flat at Drem...


Track that led to the Control tower, now long gone, but the Battle control HQ is still intact, on the skyline in the field beyond...

Here is the tower in WW2...


Quiet here today...

Not so in 1940...


Earth banks once surrounded the dispersal pens to protect the planes and ground crews working on them, you can see these pens in the first pic above...



Was a busy place during WW2...






Just Skylarks and the odd tractor to be heard today...
