High Tide trails at JMP...
Bridge to Nowhere defo today!...
This week has seen some real high tides, 5.8 meters with the strong wind pushing them leading to a lot of coast line no much good for cycling!, but there is always somewhere to cycle along the coast despite these real high tides, take today at John Muir Park, through the centre of the salt marsh is always rideable as the marsh fills from both ends at the highest tides leading to what essentially becomes an island though the water is only an inch or so deep in the centre...
You are soon onto the southern end of the point, and you can then cycle up the eastern edge on the sand, then return through the ace sandy single track trails through the Marram grass...
lovely winter light again this afternoon on the water...
Here is a wee bit film riding out and across the salt marsh and out to the point,
Song is what been going through my head during the cycle; `Reach For The Dead` by Boards of Canada
The Go Pro HERO 8 Black camera I recently bought has been really good with a big improvement in quality and stabilisation...
The home made mounts I have several of make it a quick swap between set ups from the helmet mount to the mono pod or handlebar mount...
The mount on the HERO 8 also lends itself well to mounting on the chest strap as it folds back far enough to no have to use the long Go Pro mount needed previously, set upside down at this angle gets the right angle when riding...
Here is some film cycling through some of the ace sandy single track out at the point, the bike is in it's element out here on this stuff...
Song again is `Reach For The Dead` by Boards of Canada,
The chest cam view is a view like others I prefer to just use for around 10 seconds to keep things mixed up with variety, but sometimes it can be good just following a trail from the riders view, here is another section of trail at JMP - part of The John Muir Way trail, another BOC tune...
A nice couple of hours around JMP despite the real high tide...
I live in East Lothian, S.E. Scotland.
I fill my time with my hobbies, interests and passions. Often cycling along the coast here. I ride steel bikes with big wheels, I like to enjoy all interests of the coast, Its scenery, wildlife, local history, with my other interests in art and music when out and about...
I was diagnosed with Relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis in August 2018, it`s early days but i plan to continue to live my life as i have and show that having a medical condition like MS does not mean you need to stop enjoying your life,
Please excuse the bad grammar, i am working on it!
