The Pink Pugsley!
At £65 inc VAT, Pentland Powder Coaters are brill with a 3 day turn around and a perfect lovely job done, probably the best powder coating finish I have seen yet done on any frames I have had done, not sure how many that is now over the years by PPC have a massive colour choice...
BB threads were clear as had been plugged, there was not much in the bottle cage mounts but I quickly chased them clean...
Leaving the fork uncut as G like many folk including myself find most off-road bikes too low on the front for comfortable riding where there is no weight on your wrists...
Just check the rear mech alinement before adding gears etc...
Since this pic and using the bike I swapped the SRAM GX cranks out for simpler Thorn square taper with 155mm VP square taper BB and still used the stainless steel Wolf Ring 30t narrow wide chainring to increase chain to tyre clearance when on the 46t low gear that’s a cheap but reliable set up, and while not so cheap fitting the Chris King Headset and Hope Pro 4 rear hub should last a while...
Aye, white spokes!...
10 speed 1x with bail out 22t front inner chainring, Xt mech with Microshifter Thumbshifter, all for proven reliable use on the coast...
Control cables on and gears set up along with new Avid BB7 brakes, and good to go once bar bags and few extras added...
Very happy with her new bike!...
Test ride and all good!, G real happy with it!
Cool were both on same Pugsley 2.0s now with Moonlander wheels, I`m going to add white spokes and paint the fork orange to match the frame soon and we will have `his n her` bikes! lol...
Wee film of the first ride out, along the beach at Belhaven, song is `Pretty in Pink` by The Psychedelic Furs..
I live in East Lothian, S.E. Scotland.
I fill my time with my hobbies, interests and passions. Often cycling along the coast here. I ride steel bikes with big wheels, I like to enjoy all interests of the coast, Its scenery, wildlife, local history, with my other interests in art and music when out and about...
I was diagnosed with Relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis in August 2018, it`s early days but i plan to continue to live my life as i have and show that having a medical condition like MS does not mean you need to stop enjoying your life,
Please excuse the bad grammar, i am working on it!
I love the new color.
