Willys Jeep Update; new bonnet numbers of an iconic Jeep!...

Time for some customising on my Jeep, I ordered a made to order Jeep bonnet stencil from Paul at NOOSTA DIRECT as these are real easy to use stencils and not expensive...

Just peel off the back paper aline and stick onto Jeep, and roll to secure...

I used white primer and small foam roller to apply the paint...

I did 2 coats and left the paint overnight to dry before peeling the stencils off for the big reveal!...

Small touch up along an edge using paint sprayed into the cap and finished...

This number was on many a Jeep of a kid who dreamed of one day owning and driving their own Willys Jeep that we played with one of these on many a Sunday afternoon when on TV was a classic 1960`s 70`s WW2 classic wartime movie with the real Jeeps...

And here one is! original Action Man Jeep!, and in as new condition on a shelf in my Cave... complete with Irvin Flying Jacket for the driver...

Along with Meccano and Tonka, Action Man has to be amongst some of the most classic toys of all time!, add a bit Military Meccano, Britains Tractors, Technic Lego and Scalextric and you have all you need to put a smile on visitors faces to the Cave...

It all started with these two Jeeps...

I spy... Action Man on the cider run!...

Found this on YouTube, a film about the original Action Man TV advert, who is now 50 years old and includes one of the guys who developed the toy...

Production of Action Man ended in 1984, the year I started High School, and all this went into the loft in boxes as BMX, off road motorcycles then mountainbikes came along... but that`s another story...

3 films of the original design of this toy soldier...
