happy days and social trailride...

i had a little friend knock my door on satuarday..hanneke from the netherlands made a suprised visit!...she is staying for 3 days...wish it was longer...
today (sunday) i had arranged to take some friends out around east lothian, some old and new... we had a hard frost that thawed to a slippy time for those not on the right tyres (ahem)..we had clear skys..a rare calm day...a good laugh and a few nips of various tipples from hip flasks...
i have forgot the laugh to be had with a big group riding alot on my own...
no hurry and good banter when stopping to regroup...will have another day out in spring with another route and a few wee secret trails throwen in...
fot those reading overseas this is the type of riding alot of small groups get up to here in the UK...small groups of friends meeting up with other riders and showen around there trails...

meanwhile hanneke went for a cycle down to the coast, her camera captures the winter blue sky...thought i had copyright on that shadow picture.....

  2. Group riding is something I miss, back in the day all of my Army buddies and I used to blast round Cannock Chase, Forest of Dean, Snowdonia even bloody Sutton Park for an hour! At the moment pedalling is a bit of a solitary puruit. I'm a bit of team player to be honest so I do find that bit probably the most difficult. Looks like you had a ball though mate!

  4. I agree with you and Clive about missing the group ride. For solitary riders, it's extremely easy to forget how much fun is to be had with a group (or even just one other rider). Once again, looks like a good time was had by all, and the scenery is beautiful as always.

  7. Na, na na na, na, Coastkids got a girlfriend, Coastkids got a girlfriend ;^)

What a cracking day for a ride. I miss group rides but excessive breeding has put a stop to that activity. The only time I ride with others is when I'm pulling them behind me in the trailer and feeding them biscuits.
