Sunday cycle to some WW2 relics...

Friend Phil stayed the whole week after Forth Fat as enjoyed East lothian that much and we did a few great rides,
And a few ciders/beers in front of the stove or Chiminea...

I was busy on Saturday so no cycling, but we had another cycle on Sunday out to Gullane point so he could have a closer look at some of the remains of the WW2 coastal defences he passed by the previous weekend at Forth fat.
We rode to the Anti tank defences and Type 22 Pill box in the dunes, across to Aberlady and Gosford POW Camp with it`s Cooler, walked the bikes through the ponds then stopped at Gosford Bothy Cafe where Phil enjoyed a Boar burger and bought some sausages - i had a bake tattle with Tuna :)
Bickertons tomb next at Luffness, then around the former RAF Drem Airfield...

  1. Great pics and write up. Do you every make GPS traces for these rides? Or could you scribble it roughly on a map? I live just up the coast in Cockenzie and would love to check out this history stuff, but not confident in my ability to find some of it...
