New Surly KramPug Build Pt 2 of 2; powdercoated and build...

That`s the Snowblind white Pugsley frame set back from the Powder Coaters on Friday with the day off work (on a long weekend) and built up!

Real impressed with the finish for the price at £35  from Pentland Powder Coating...

The colour is a bit more egg yellow than Tangerine that i intended-hard to see the finished colour when you choose from a small square on the colour chart but i like it anyway...

So just a case of putting all the parts on and it will be good to go...

Headset first...

Uncut steerer tube is perfect for a raised handlebar set up with Jones Loop bars...

Looks a bit odd but once the top tube/tank bag is fitted it will look fine...

Phil Wood square taper 100mm BB/Middleburn RS7 crank arms and Duo 30t spider..

BB threads greased and BB and crank set installed...

Rest of the build was quick and easy with the brakes/shifter/grips all in place...

Wheels on then re aline the brake callipers...

And connect the gear cable to the Alfine hub,
Remember the wee tip of using a 2mm Allen key to rotate the cable housing part, real easy once you know to do this!...

Chain needed a link out and the rear wheel is slammed all the way forward with just a few turns of the Surly Tugnut tensioner to tension the chain...

Modded Tugnut to allow the Alfine axle spacers to fit...

Chain line looks and feels smooth and good...

And being a Pugsley frame set with 29+ wheels fitted there is loads of tyre clearance....

Nearly done...

tape over the bottle mount holes on the frame then mount the bikepacking bags...

This bag is for a medium MK 1 (Non dropped top tube)  Purple or Grey Pugsley and its huge!, it fits the Large dropped top tube frame ok and allows the top tube hand grip space as intended...

You can see the extra inch of longer top tube of the Large frame here...

I don`t mind riding a 100mm BB, all the stories of damaged knees etc have not materialised for any of the Fatbike riders like my self i know on line that have rode these bikes for more than 8 years now. It also allows for a wider frame bag, gas stove cylinder or water bottle width to be precise...

One last job to do before riding...

Stickers!,  wiped the areas for them first with some brake cleaner to remove greasy finger prints...

And done...

Quick test ride and the new KramPug is ace!...

Waiting on some steel Rivi nuts to arrive in the post then i can fit bottle cages to forks and down tube...

More soon...
