Midweek Cycle; post work wanderings...And another WW2 Bunker discovered!...

Busy day at work and good to get in an hour or so ride to the coast...
Circus here again this summer for a couple of days...

Down through New Mains Farm...

The ground is so dry with the lack of rain in recent weeks...

Beyond the former WW2 GCI Radar station which is now a private residence is the R7 ROTOR Radar Well, this is a MK II R7 single room well that housed the equipment for the Radar that sat on top. You can read about this type of Radar here;  radarpages.co.uk

This Well bunker/room was open to the public and being half filled with rain water and with rusty ladders dangerous - if a ladder collapsed someone would not be able to get out. So i was asked to arrange for the local builders to seal the lids last year. Before doing so i did a bit film with the Go Pro camera on the mono pod to document it. But the water was a bit murky to see much, chairs and table and lights and conduct were all there...

You can read about Dirleton GCI  on the East Lothian at War website

Moving on and down to Yellowcraig...

Parched!...

Real close muggy weather as i left the coast and returned to the van...

Here is some film of the short loop,
Song is `Open Heart Surgery` by The Brian Jonestown Massacre
