Roadtrip...Aberdeenshire coast... Pt5; Newburgh beach

Heading home and we stopped off for some beach riding north of Aberdeen, i knew there was a lot of beach here but did not realise how much!, i enviously looked across at this huge dune from the other side of the river Ythan, too deep to cross, but there was more than enough sand on the south side...

Around the estuary and across the opposite bank seals basked in the sun, a visitor attraction...

South all the way to Aberdeen was beach, around 6 miles or so...

A few WW2 Coastal Crust defences still remain...

Anti tank blocks with stones cemented in on top, never seen ones like this before...

Another Type 22 Machine gun pill box...

We road a couple of miles in the baking heat stopping at an old boat wreck...

Returning to the van and i had to go up and have a look at the defence on the dune...

There were in fact two identical defences, not seen this type before...

One last dune surf to do!, and back on the beach we we to watch the seals for a bit...

I will deft be back to ride all this beach and do some exploring for sure!...
