Isolation Cycle Pt 16; Hedderwick trails...

Check out the high pressure winter day here on the coast!, the ice is starting to thaw now by midday with temps around 2 or 3C so a wee bit mud in places but the trails are fantastic to ride on 5" Fatbikes this now.
I was having a wee tee-hee moment to myself as folk are going daft about `Gravel` bikes and drop bar bikes for off road cycling and having ridden them and got rid of them as their not my cup of tea at all, and I was thinking just how useless and uncomfortable they would be along this track today with the frozen ruts.
We were having a ball and not having to watch your lines much over the frozen ruts allows to a a look around at the amazing coastal views today,  East Coast scenery takes some beating...

Again here on a section of the John Muir Way there has be frozen Mountainbike ruts for a few days but the bikes made light work of it,  don't think Fatbikes are the best bike for every type of off-road cycling as they are truly awful on slick mud on top of a hard surface as designed to float spreading their weight through the wide contact surface,  anyhow I hate mud!, and getting caked in it so avoid it when I can,  And G is the same nowadays having spent years out winter cycling getting caked in it and having a lot of cleaning up and washing afterwards, nah a couple of hours on the beaches or sandy trails and home and a quick rinse off with the hose and job done!...

Today was agin real quiet being through the week and it was so quiet with little wind, go to here all the birds out in the Bay, and the ice crunching under our tyres...

Fantastic winters day, folk moan about January but it's been a great month and you just got to make the most of it,  wet days in the garage dry days out a cycle,
