Friday affy Beach ride - avoiding the weekend visitors...

Friday sunrise 5am, up early and out and about enjoying the peace and quiet,
Mid morning we went a cycle around JMCP at low tide and out across Hedderwick sands it was quiet while around the corner at Belhaven sands it was mobbed with folk! - now you cannot blame folk making the most of the staycation this summer and getting out on the coast, and it is good to see families out enjoying what is on our doorstep, but there is a sadder side to all this and  today on Tuesday local Social Media pages are full of inconsiderate car parking and camping and rubbish and human waste left in dunes etc, and local Countryside Rangers getting abuse from idiots who they were trying to advise...  a repeat of last year when Covid restrictions were eased slightly, and a small majority of the public seem to think they can do what they want...

I think the feet on the ground work done by the Countryside Rangers and other local groundworks cannot be questioned there up with it this year, and got a tough job to manage...  but the upper levels of Council officials who seeing this influx on `east Lothians Coast coming this year and doing nothing should hang there heads in shame, no public toilets have been open, it is stated because of no cleaners, as no money was available to fund this, along with no summer mowing of the John Muir Way path network which in places is unrideable on a bike nevermind walk young children along the nettle infestation or push a pram... yet ELC has spent thousands funding a `Soft Return` to the countryside?

I think ELC need to get there own house in order before wasting public money inviting the Public to come visit...

Rant over and we were out to enjoy a quieter part of coast as mentioned and it was really warm!, 24C is not really what were used to on the SE coast!...

Aye G its hot!

I still don't get what it is all about walking alpacas but if that's your thing...

More idiots here, with dogs off leads in the nesting area, obviously local bylaws don't apply if your a visitor...

Time to switch off and enjoy riding Fatbikes where they belong - where you usually don't see anyone else cycling and we crawled over mud flats and mussel beds, collecting some souvenirs from WW2...

Hispano 20mm...

And another...

And another!, this one a rarer 1941 stamp...

Heading home and around the corner the Bay was like Benidorm!...

Wee film , song is `Rise` by Tycho

More soon...
