Cycling Around Glenmore; Loch Morlich loop

The Rain of yesterday had passed but the skies were still dark and brooding as the sun broke through during the day creating lovely light - different from the light on the coast here inland but still a mystical atmospher  as we cycled around Loch Morlich today. Yep that's a beach in the Cairngorm area away from the coast!, quite different sand to what were used to seeing being from the hard quartz like stones of the Cairngorm. Interestingly the beach at Loch Morlich is also covered in smooth glass, it came to be here from a non natural way though, durning WW2 Norwegian troops trained here throwing glass grenades - also known as Molotov cocktails, usually half paraffin, half petrol with a fuse in the top, they must have drunk a lot of the local whisky to get so many bottles!...

Start of the ride the skies were overcast then within an hour the skies cleared to like it was a different day, the weather system here changes so quickly compared to back home, you can see how The Cairngorm mountains can be such a dangerous place with changing conditions....

Down here around the loch side it was getting quite balmy!...

We successfully cycled along the beach on our 29+ `fat Light` bikes while others pushed there bikes across to the cafe where we sat with some cake and coffee, then had an ice cream...

Riding though the camper van area of the campsite back to the tent we passed this US School bus, converted to a camper the owner Angus drives and feeds the tourist passengers and they visit areas like Glenmore and Glencoe, how cool an idea is this?!  you can check out The Bonnie Camper website here;
