How to Steal a Spitfire...

Just follow the instructions...

Some other things to remember;

1. Wait until you see the whites of his eyes. Fire short bursts of one to two seconds only when your sights are definitely "ON".
2. Whilst shooting think of nothing else, brace the whole of your body; have both hands on the stick; concentrate on your ring sight.
3. Always keep a sharp lookout. "Keep your finger out".
4. Height gives you the initiative.
5. Always turn and face the attack.
6 Make decisions promptly. It is better to act quickly even though your tactics are not the best.
7. Never fly straight and level for more than 30 seconds in the combat area.
8. When diving to attack always leave a proportion of your formation above to act as a to guard.
9. INITIATIVE AGGRESSION. AIR DISCIPLINE, and TEAMWORK are words that MEAN something in AIR Fighting.
10. Go in quickly - Punch hard - Get out!

Sailor Malan DSO & BAR, DFC & BAR, No74 Squadron
27 Kills, seven shared destroyed, three probably destroyed and 16 damaged.

If my lottery numbers come up one of the first things i`m doing is this.
£1000 a minute for a ride in a WW2 Spitfire converted to a two seater is a small price to pay compared to those who flew them and for many payed a much greater price...

Fast forward 70 years and 3 TV celebs...  -:)

Autumn Day on the coast at its best...

Sunday was supposed to be a Salsa Fargo ride with a bit of Autumn colour but the thing is that Autumn really has not happened here in East Lothian yet. A lot of trees have just shrivelled leaves and dropped them after all the rain of recent weeks. Don`t know why Radio Scotland keep banging on about a great Autumn after the wet summer because it is not here!, might happen yet in a few weeks but not going to be anything special...

One life live it...
Today i did a ride not for myself but for my dad. When he gets out of hospital he will not walk again on the beaches and coastline he spent his life on from 1970 to 1990 as East Lothians first and Senior Countryside Ranger for Scotland's first Countryside Ranger service...
He will get to see the coast from the car but not walk the secluded areas of coastline away from the public.
That's where i come in as my blog pictures have become a way to show dad our coastline today and how it is changing with on going  coastal erosion and regeneration like i posted on at Aberlady Bay last week.

Sunday was a lovely clear Autumn day. It was supposed to be only 9 degrees Celsius, but was warmer than that, maybe the last warm Sunday of this year on the coast...
So i rode the Moonlander from North Berwick out to Aberlady Bay and instead of bike riding pics tried to capture the views and wildlife as viewed from the saddle...

It`s a hard job but someone has to do it... -:)

East along the coast, and a visit to Tonka Land...

Jason made it out for a beach ride on Saturday and we rode east of Dunbar along past Barnes Ness to Torness Nuclear Power Station...

Back on the slick rock at Skateraw...

Tornoble... er i mean Torness.. -:)

Sea Anglers, not sure i would eat fish caught in the out waters of a Nucleur Power station... do they come ready cooked? -:) ...

They have a 69! ...

I said a visit to Tonks Land? ... -:)

Lol...

With a 47" rim my Moonlander has just been out tyred!...

Massive machine!... -:)

Today's ride was a pain to take pictures not having the gas tank bag on the bike to grab pics from the saddle. Stopping to take off a back pack to get the camera out was not ideal, or was the light so excuse the lack of informative pictures. The light was not great either. Sunday though dawned with a light too good not to head for the beach again...
