With G getting a new Paddleboard there was a chance for me to have a go, with a short wetsuit gifted from friend Yan and a spare flotation jacket it was time to have a go!
It was fun and I will have another go, rather than writing everything you can listen to the film...
I met up with Chris and we drove the Jeeps across the Duns and parked up in Duns high street next to the statue of the Polish Army Soldier Bear Wojtek... an amazing true story of an orphaned brown bear the Polish soldiers adopted and who became famous and a member of the Regiment!
We then drove along to the site of Winfield Camp where after WW2 he lived at the camp with the Polish men before he went to live at Edinburgh Zoo...
Parked up in a wood near the camp where Wojtek was taken walks to go for a swim there are on trees claw marks on the Beech trees that are still visible after 80 years...
Many books have been written on the story of Wojtek and there is film of him on Youtube

Winfield Airfield
While at Winfield we took a drive around the Perimeter of Winfield Airfield, apart from a control tower and a few buildings no much remains at this former WW2 Satellite airfield though there is a hand pulled fire fighting apparatus...
