Forth Fat 2019, pre weekend cycle...
Friday of Forth Fat Weekend and today folk will start to arrive around NB for a weekend of coastal cycling and fun and laughs,
Good friend Phil arrived Thursday afternoon and we went out a wee cycle around Binning Woods...
Temperatures are set to rise this weekend and long awaited warm weather on the coast will be nice...
A lot of surfacing work is going on with all weather surfacing on trails in the woods, this will make for great winter cycling...
Wee film,

Tyninghame; Morning cycle...
A cold night and a frost came in with the dawn and there was a real nip in the air as i arrived at Tyninghame to park up, i had Jake dog with me to give a good run and i rode a loop around Tyninghame woods on the south side. Still not many leaves out in the woods at the coast with the recent onshore cold winds holding things back...

Onto the secret trail next...
And around the coast to Peffersands...
Awesome light!...
Back through the dune paths and up to Ravensheugh...
Then down through the woods past a big group camping, some of who must have had a cold night...
Here is another short film descending through the woods south of Ravensheugh...

Midweek Cycle; Gullane dunes
Back out cycling again with M and Jake dog, an overcast evening, but dry though a colder easterly onshore breeze.
oh here`s her new built bike!, we wet down to Gullane dunes....
Down around `Jamies Neuk` - that`s the ruin cottage at Freshwaterhaven all the sea buckthorn has been cleared, i went for a walk to see what was lying around pulled up by the excavators...
McEwens beer can
.303 bullet
Jake as usual found a stick...
And this also dating to WW2 a used smoke grenade, the beach here was used for training and these were used here along with live fire rounds...
Also revealed this ruin of what looks like a barn as no windows, sheep would have been grazed here many years ago so maybe related to farming...
overcast evening but still a nice light on the water

Midweek Cycle; Yellowcraig...
Salt air distorted Scots Pine trees at Yellowcraig..
More high pressure weather, typical of April continues, cold evenings and often an air frost that comes in with the dawn, but by later afternoon if out of the cool easterly breeze it can be a bit warmer!. We went down to Dirleton and on to Yellowcraig with Jake dog...
Having a seat in a sunny spot in the dunes,
I built up a Fatbike for M before my Operation last year, M has not had the chance to try it out until today. It is the the Ritchey Commando Fatbike frame set i bought discounted a while back,
I built it lightweight with 65mm Surly Marge light rims and Halo Nanuke tyres set up Ghetto tubeless, and high narrow bars for an easy to ride safe stable bike...
I put a Go Pro mount on M`s bike to add some footage and take some stills from...
Lovely blue sky and low sun...
Jake was happy to be out running, as always!
And M is happy with here new Fatbike!...
Wee film with loads of trail speed ed up!, Song is `Trail Away` by Frost
