Midweek Cycle; JMP...Beachriding

 

Sunshine burning through a morning sea haar, and a pedal out around the point at JMP,

Now I have moved in with G this is now my local go to beach for a Fat fix on the sand...

A week of split shifts at work so after an early start I was soon home and out for a wee cycle...

Been piling these up as I find them to take home and clean using Electrolysis, more on how I get on doing that soon...

Wee pedal done and back home to head off to work again...

Bought some albums by Tycho for films as I think I have used all material I can get by one my favourite to cycle to; Boards of Canada, many several times,

There are rumours on social media is there is a new album coming by BOC,

Cycle to Tyninghame with friends...

Some pics and film from a few weeks ago  out cycling with friends one evening after a wet day,

Been a real mixed bag of weather through July into August after what was an amazing Springtime of day after day of blue skies, oh well got to take the weather how it comes...

Sun made a late appearance in the evening...

Then just like that it was gone...

Post work Beachride at JMP...

End of first of 3 weeks working straight through so good to get out a wee cycle on the coast with G,

John Muir Park (JMP) in my local beach now and high or low tide there is always riding on sand available,

Today we cycled across the Salt Marsh avoiding the beach packed with day visitors, just a couple of yards over some dunes was like a world away as we cycle through the sandy single track and out onto Hedderwick sands...

WW2 tail end fins from Mortars, these are safe so don't worry!...

Sandy singletrack, miles of it here out to the point...

New `PugLander` build is rolling sweet!, split shift tomorrow so hopefully get some point to point film if I can get in a couple of hours cycle...

EL MTB#10, Newbyth Core Path

A recent addition is the  section of Core Path through Newbyth Estate, 

The Estate with its prestigious Mansion house originally owned by the Baird Family is actually now flats today with an internal courtyard after a fire ravaged the building, old school friend Clarky once lived there,

The fields are farmed by Lochouses farm, and the lands of Whitekirk were once included in the Estate Policies, and you would think Whitekirk with it's historic church -the seat of the oldest Church of Scotland, would have been an Estate of it's own, but the Estate included Whitekirk Mains Farm and Newmains Farm,

The all weather surface is raised and drained  for year round dry and mud free cycling, unlike the previous mud fest of a track...

Beachride to JMP with friends...

Into August,

Friends Phil and Anne were up visiting and staying in their camper van now camp sites have reopened,

And it was great to see them again and catch up...

As usual when they visit we end up on the coast looking for WW2 stuff, and as usual we were not disappointed... 

Through the woods stopping at the WW2 Live Fire Range ground sign for aircraft...

Then home washing the sand off the bikes in the local Ford...

Stopping at Preston Kirk we showed the folks some famous local history...

Yep, the Agricultural Revolution started here in East Lothian... 

Home through rich farmland which makes the County of East Lothian famous...

Love living here in the Shire!...
