Life in the rain...

After a week of gales, the aftermath of another Hurricane from somewhere, we get rain too for the weekend, when I'm off!,

Most trails are saturated this now but the hard pack sand `secret` trail above the coastline at Tyninghame woods is still rolling sweet and mud free,

I did a film here 3 years ago here with the 29er...how did i clear that dry ditch riding fully ridged i dont know, cant do it now...

Since making that film there have been a lot of improvements in the flow of the trail, and my editing!, like clearing a trail over the rubble wall, and smoothing over exposed roots which at 9 " exposed were unrideable!,
i have done a bit pruning this year again and bar the Pine branch, and the dry ditch which i cant seem to clean anymore, it is now all ride able,
Its name is because visitors to the coast here at Tyninghame always miss this part between the old gates and the WW2 check point and walk straight down onto the beach, there gaze probably on the sea in front of them...

This has been my trail that i have developed for cycling with a bit pruning here and there and a spot of folding spade digging over the years since i first found a deer track above the coast which was 50% ride able...

No doubt other people were walking along it before then, there is that stone with the crucifix carved on it i found when i turned over a stone in the ruin wall to bypass the eroded shoreline, when was it carved?...

It has really become a well trodden trail in just the last few years between the wall with the gates along to the WW2 Anti tank check point...so thanks to all the local dog walkers who have helped trample it flat!.
Along past the WW2 Machine Gun Pill Box which is now nearly unseen from down on the coastline (it needs dug out if anyone wants to help) to the WW2 Anti Tank blocks check point...

Campers have used it too...

People were trampling along here before mountain bikes came along, were just adding to its use...

It is a great night ride loop using the woodland trails to return to the cabin up above Ravensheugh, and its fun...
Another film of the trail, in the rain from Saturday afy,
Song is `Introduction` then `Life in the Rain` by Quantic...
