1980`s Muddy Fox Courier ATB - survivor

Seeing as it is mid summer, time to prep my winter commuter!,
My old mid 1980`s Muddy Fox is back into use as a commuter along with the Surly Cross-Check fixie...

The bike is a survivor- all original, I fitted the Saracen Moose bars i had lying around as the bike came with drop bars, used as a London commuter i bought it for £60 delivered here it was when it arrived...

The original Suntour brakes levers were gone but luckily the Suntour thumbies were still on it..

There was even a Wonder light!, remember these?  :)

Here is the advert for the bike, i was in 2nd year at high school when the Courier add appeared in magazines...

All original Suntour groupset, Araya 35mm wide rims, even gumwall IRC Mythos tyres :)

Dia Compe canti lever brakes are suprisingly powerfull...

Esp with these huge old Shimano levers i stripped off an old Raleigh ATB a while ago...

Old with plenty of Patina, not worth much, but some nice features...

I have fitted the SKS Trecking mudgaurds, Dutch horseshoe lock, and ground off the outer big chain ring teeth as their hooked and so is not used, saves trousers catching on it.
A 1962 Brooks professional saddle which the tools and spare inner tube fit underneath...

Across to the shop the other evening, the bike is nice to ride too...

long chain stays allow plenty of heal clearance for panniers...

Tatties will be ready soon!...

Life is Good... :)

More soon...
