Saturday and time to go ride, been away from the coast here for a while and while missing it the harvested fields are so much fun to cycle on 29+ wheels, today i thought `why not enjoy both?` and so rode to seacliff beach and then home from Peffersands via harvested fields.
There are not many fields left to be harvested now and the big farms are already ploughing and sowing.
Down to Seacliff and with the sunshine the views on the coast were stunning...
Who needs to go abroad?...
Looked like Seacliff was devoid of visitors, one family and 3 horses on the beach and that was it!..
Be real busy here later...
All sandstone and all different colours...
Along towards Peffersands and although 2 hours since the very low 0.5 meter low tide at 8.30am some of the wreck of the SS Poderosa could be seen so i walked out for some pics and film...
More pics and info on this wreck on a previous blog post Here...
The ship offshore looked like a mine sweeper and once along to Willowbrae Point a zoomed pic showed it`s markings as M924, named `Primula` a google search and it is indeed a mine hunter!
More info on this Belgium built ship here on a Wiki page...
Along the sands of Peffersands and the noise of waves for company reminded me of one of the many things that i love about beach riding when i got my Pugsley nearly 9 years ago, that relaxing rhythmic sound of waves breaking along side as you cycle along the beach.
Maybe now that i have a camera with decent microphone i should make a 3 minute film of just this view alongside breaking waves and the relaxing noise of the surf?...
Around Willowbrae point and the secret trail through Tyninghame woods before heading home...
Not many fields with bales left...
Song is `Garden` by Phontaine (edited shorter)...
